If you are the one who buys nut milk in the shop regularly I would definitely recommend you to try this recipe and try to make it at home.
I had a big bag of cashew nuts which I received from one healthy food supplier.
I love cashew nuts and it’s my favourite nut for snacking,however this time I decided for once to make my own nut mylk.
I heard a lot of positive comments about how good it taste and how easy to make it but never tried it myself.
As I love to experiment with food and recipes it was something I was actually very excited to try.
Also this recipe is great for Almond mylk if you not fan of cashew ,but it’s better to use the blanched almonds or if you have raw almond just do the Blanche stage yourself by soaking in hot water and peeling the skin off.
As I used cashew nuts, I soaked it overnight first, so it won’t be an option to do something right away .
It takes only 20 minutes of your time ( if you have soaked nuts a night before) to make this super delicious mylk and I can guarantee you will taste the difference and maybe would never go again to the shop to buy another pack of your favourite vegan milk.
Also, all that milk hardly contains any nuts (2%) what not many of you might know.
So rather than talk about the others let’s make our mylk.
I used 1 cup of cashew nuts, soaked overnight and rinsed in the morning.
4 cups filtered water
1/2 tsp cinammon
2-3 mejool dates ( optional)
1/4 vanilla bean
1/4 Himalayan salt
1) Blend all the ingredients in high speed blender ( Blendtec or Nutribullet)
2)Strain it in a nut bag, cheese cloth( avaliable at Amazon ) or simply use a muslin cloth.
3)Keep in the fridge for a 5 days.
